Terms of service
The agreement between you and Bizvizor LLC for using FamTap.
NOT YET REVIEWED BY A LAWYER. The service description below is accurate. The contractual terms — warranty, liability, indemnity, arbitration, governing law, termination — are not drafted. Those are the substance of a terms of service and none of them are here. Do not submit this to a carrier or an app store in this state.
What FamTap is
FamTap is a daily check-in service. One person — usually a parent or grandparent — taps once a day and optionally captures a photo. The family members in their circle can see that the check-in happened. If the day's check-in window closes without one, those family members are notified by push notification and text message.
What FamTap is not
PLACEHOLDER — THE EXACT WORDING NEEDS A LAWYER. FamTap is not an emergency service, not a medical device, and not a care-coordination or monitoring service. It does not summon help, contact emergency services, or monitor anyone's health or safety. A missed check-in means only that a tap did not happen — it is not a determination that anything is wrong. Never rely on FamTap in an emergency. Call your local emergency number.
FamTap depends on mobile networks, push notification services and text message carriers that we do not control. Notifications can be delayed or fail to arrive.
Accounts and eligibility
- You must be 13 or older to have a FamTap account.
- You are responsible for the phone number you sign in with.
- When you invite someone, you are telling us you have their permission to send them a text at that number.
Consent to messages
NEEDS A LAWYER — this is the clause carriers scrutinise. A caregiver enters a family member's mobile number; that person receives one invitation message and must accept it before FamTap sends them anything further. The wording that establishes valid express consent when the number is supplied by a third party has to be drafted by counsel.
Your content
Your photos and check-ins are yours. You give us permission to store and display them to the members of your circle so the service can work, and for no other purpose. Every photo is scanned for child sexual abuse material before it is shown; see the privacy policy.
Acceptable use
- Do not use FamTap to monitor someone without their knowledge. The person checking in can always see who is in their circle and can leave it.
- Do not upload unlawful content. Illegal imagery is reported as the law requires.
Ending
You can delete your account from Settings at any time. If you are the only owner of a circle, the other members are given notice and the chance to take it over before it closes.
